Will SGX’s proposals spur a remisier revival?
(Oct 16): The Singapore Exchange released a consultation paper this past week on a series of proposed amendments to some of the rules on securities trading, as well as clarifications on current market practices.

(Oct 16): The Singapore Exchange released a consultation paper this past week on a series of proposed amendments to some of the rules on securities trading, as well as clarifications on current market practices.

The stated objective of these changes is to give brokers more flexibility, and ease the entry of new remisiers into the industry.

While some of the proposed rule amendments are long overdue, others are unlikely to make any difference to the parties involved.
