SINGAPORE (July 23): When The Edge Singapore was founded in 2002, we set out to cover business and investment news for a market that we perceived would become a financial pillar for Asia. A strong financial centre needs robust financial reporting, and our intention was to provide this — to investors, entrepreneurs and decision makers.
The Singapore Exchange’s inaugural Orb Awards is a fitting recognition of the importance of this mission — and of our contribution. Launched in April this year, it aims to recognise excellence in financial journalism and content. Three articles written by The Edge Singapore’s editorial team were nominated in two of the six awards categories, with one of them emerging a winner.
Our Cover Story for the week of April 9 titled “SGX versus HKEX” won the “Story of the Year” — Securities award. This category is for stories that offer insights on investing in the securities markets and capture significant developments that have an impact on capital markets.
