Keppel to develop smart IoT city in Wuxi with China's Envision Group

SINGAPORE (Dec 6): Keppel Urban Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Corp, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Envision Group and Wuxi’s government to develop a “smart internet of things (IoT) City” in Xuelang Town, Taihu New City, Wuxi, China.

Adopting a city-industry integration model, Keppel and Envision plan to create a scalable and replicable model with a view to leading the development of the IoT industry and smart city transformation in China and other parts of the world.

Keppel Land buys Wuxi site for $517 mil for residential development

SINGAPORE (Dec 25): Keppel Land has acquired a prime piece of land in the city of Wuxi, in southern Jiangsu province in China, to develop residential properties.

Keppel Land China, through its subsidiary, Keppel Lakefront (Wuxi) Property Development Co. secured the 18.03ha residential site in the city for RMB2.533 billion ($517 million) in a government land tender.

Keppel Land China is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Land, the property arm of the Keppel Group.

OUE Lippo Healthcare ordered to repay alleged outstanding loan

SINGAPORE (Nov 23): OUE Lippo Healthcare, formerly known as International Healthway Corporation (IHC), has been ordered to pay RMB6 million ($1.2 million) plus interest for a claim brought against one of its downstream subsidiaries, Wuxi New District Phoenix Hospital.

The claimant, David Lin, alleges that he had previously granted Wuxi Hospital a loan in 2012 through the Bank of Nanjing, Shanghai Branch, and that an outstanding sum of RMB6 million has yet to be repayed.

SINGAPORE (July 12): After staging concerts in Singapore for the past two decades, the city-state’s best-performing initial public offering this year is taking its entertainment on the road.

Unusual Ltd., which will run Justin Bieber’s concert in Singapore later this year, wants to double the number of shows it organizes by next year, Chief Executive Officer Leslie Ong said in an interview on Tuesday. New markets it’s expanding into include China’s second-tier cities and capitals across Southeast Asia.

Chiwayland subsidiary acquires land use rights for land parcel in Wuxi

SINGAPORE (Sept 20): Property developer Chiwayland International says its 60% subsidiary, Suzhou Chiway Shangcheng Real Estate, has won the bid for land use rights of a land parcel located at the East to Jinkui Park in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China.

The quantum of the winning bid was not revealed.

The land parcel comprises a site area of approximately 73,351 sq m, and any development on it is not expected to be completed before 2018.

Wuxi is located on the Yangtze River Delta and borders two large cities, Changzhou to the West and Suzhou to the East.

Chiwayland subsidiary acquires land use rights for land parcels in Wuxi and Suzhou

SINGAPORE (Aug 22): Property developer Chiwayland International says its subsidiary, Suzhou Chiway Shangcheng Real Estate, has been successful in its bids for the land use rights of land parcels in Binghu, Wuxi and Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, both of which are located in the Jiangsu province in China.

Chiwayland did not reveal the quantum of each winning bid.

The land parcels comprise site areas of 11,782 sqm and 34,180 sqm in Wuxi and Suzhou respectively.

Any development on either land parcel is not expected to be completed before 2018.
