Neo Group to consolidate & shift operations to upcoming high-tech facility at Jurong

SINGAPORE (Mar 15): Catering company Neo Group is moving from its headquarters from Enterprise Road to 30B Quality Road at Jurong, where the group intends to construct a high-tech catering hub and integrated facility spanning 300,000 sq ft and 10 storeys high. 

The facility broke ground today, and is scheduled for completion in 4Q20.

In a press release on Friday, Neo Group says its upcoming high-tech catering hub will be the first of its kind in Singapore as the group consolidates its operations to “serve as a vital nerve centre to accelerate the group’s future expansion”.

Biolidics partners Japan's Sysmex Corp for cancer-related R&D

SINGAPORE (Feb 20): Biolidics Limited has established a strategic partnership with Sysmex Corporation, a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed supplier of hematology instruments, to collaborate on the development of laboratory assays in the field of circulating tumour cells.

Ryobi Kiso launches Centre for Geotechnical Engineering & Industrial Technology

SINGAPORE (Mar 5): Ground engineering solutions provider Ryobi Kiso Holdings has launched its Centre for Geotechnical Engineering & Industrial Technology (GEIT) within the group’s existing facility to build new competencies in ground engineering technologies.

The centre is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).

SIATP calls for tax incentives in Budget 2018 to boost productivity

SINGAPORE (Jan 18): The Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP) has called for targeted tax incentives to be included in Budget 2018 to reinforce Singapore’s productivity drive and help businesses tap into the accelerated growth.

Based on feedback gathered from its members, SIATP’s recommendations include enhancing the existing research and development (R&D) scheme, introducing a tax incentive for the financial technology (fintech) sector, and introducing a double deduction scheme for training expenses.

CDW Holding to acquire 95% indirect stake in Japanese R&D firm

SINGAPORE (Jan 5): CDW Holding, the producer and supplier of precision components, is acquiring a 95% stake in GSP Enterprise, a limited liability company established in Japan, for a cash consideration of 14.25 million yen ($168,2000).

The company will be acquired via CDW’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Tomoike Industrial (HK), following which GSP will become an indirect subsidiary of CDW.

Acromec awarded two contracts totaling to $6.6 mil

SINGAPORE (Dec 22): Acromec, the specialist engineering service provider in the field of controlled environments, has secured two high-specification contracts worth $6.6 million in total.  

With these wins, the group’s order book will increase to approximately $28 million, and the contracts are expected to contribute positively to the earnings per share (EPS) and net tangible assets (NTA) per share of the group for the FY18 ended Sept.

Singtel partners A*STAR, NTU to spearhead R&D in emerging technologies

SINGAPORE (Dec 4): Singtel today inked partnership agreements with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), respectively, to spearhead research & development (R&D) efforts in emerging technologies.

Oceanus partners James Cook University to establish aquaculture R&D initiative

SINGAPORE (Nov 15): Oceanus Tech, the research arm of seafood supply chain manager Oceanus Group, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with James Cook University’s (JCU) Singapore campus to further aquaculture research and development (R&D) efforts as technology partners.

In a joint release on Wednesday, Oceanus and James Cook University Singapore say they intend to co-operate and exchange ideas relating to aquaculture R&D, particularly in the areas relating to genetics, husbandry and aquatic animal health.
