Singapore employers report most optimistic hiring outlook since 2015: ManpowerGroup

SINGAPORE (Sept 11): Employers in Singapore continue to report stronger hiring intentions for 4Q18, according to data reported by workforce solutions company ManpowerGroup.

Based on findings from the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, Net Employment Outlook (NEO) was +13% after accounting for seasonal variation. This marks the third consecutive quarters of strengthening hiring outlooks for Singapore, with employers reporting the most optimistic forecast since 2015.

SINGAPORE (Aug 6): Singapore is seeing a talent shortage issue, as more than 56% of employers in the country are struggling to fill open positions, the highest rate in 10 years, according to research from ManpowerGroup Solutions, a company part of ManpowerGroup.

The research titled Siri, Find Me a New Job. Why Employers Should Adopt a High-Touch/High-Tech Approach to the Job Search surveyed more than 750 individuals aged 18-65 in Singapore.

Globally, talent shortages have reached a 12-year high, with 45% of employers are struggling to fill open positions.

SINGAPORE (July 2): The Asia Pacific region is suffering the most acutely as global talent shortage approaches a 12-year high, according to the ManpowerGroup 2018 Talent Shortage Survey.

Out of the top 10 worst-affected markets in the survey, Japan tops the regional list at 89% followed by Taiwan and Hong Kong at 78% and 76%, respectively, and Singapore on par with India at 56% each.

ManpowerGroup foresees record hiring activity in Singapore for 3Q18

SINGAPORE (June 12): Employers in Singapore are reporting their strongest hiring intentions in nearly three years, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey released today.

Out of the 670 Singapore employers surveyed, 17% expect to increase staffing levels and only 5% intend to let staff go, while 70% anticipate no change. After accounting for seasonal variation, Singapore’s employers booked a Net Employment Outlook (NEO) of +12%.

Moderate hiring activity expected in Singapore for 1Q18: ManpowerGroup

SINGAPORE (Dec 12): The first quarter of 2018 will see a moderate hiring activity, according to the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS).

The survey forecasts a net employment outlook of a 9% increase in Singapore after interviewing nearly 650 employers.

The net employment outlook is derived by taking the percentage of employers anticipating total employment to increase and subtracting from this the percentage expecting to see a decrease in employment at their location in the next quarter.

Singapore enjoys strongest employment outlook in 2 years

SINGAPORE (Sept 12): Singapore’s 4Q net employment outlook has jumped to +11% after seasonal variations have been taken into account, according to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey (MEOS).

This represents the strongest outlook in two years, being up 7 and 4 percentage points q-o-q and y-o-y respectively, says ManpowerGroup in a press release on Tuesday.
