Keppel to build another two LNG carriers for Stolt-Nielsen worth around $105 mil

SINGAPORE (Oct 7): Keppel Offshore & Marine’s subsidiary Keppel Singmarine has signed two additional contracts with Stolt-Nielsen Gas BV, a subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen, to build two additional small-scale LNG carriers worth a total of around $105 million.

Three options were granted to Stolt-Nielsen Gas as part of the original contract signed in May 2017 between Keppel Singmarine and Stolt-Nielsen Gas to build two LNG carriers. The first option lapsed in November 2017, while the second and third options have now been exercised by Stolt-Nielsen Gas.

Keppel delivers second LNG-powered vessel to Keppel Smit Towage

SINGAPORE (Sept 17): Keppel Offshore & Marine announced that its specialised shipbuilding arm, Keppel Singmarine, has delivered it second dual-fuel tug capable of running on liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The vessel was built for Maju Maritime, which is merged operationally with Keppel Smit Towage, and named Maju Loyalty.

In a media release issued on Monday, Keppel said that the vessel was completed on time, within budget and with a perfect safe record.

Keppel Offshore & Marine wins 2 contracts worth total $70 mil

SINGAPORE (July 22): Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) on Sunday announced it has secured two contracts in Brazil and Singapore worth a total of $70 million.

First, wholly-owned subsidiary Keppel FELS Brasil has been engaged by its longstanding customer, MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore), to undertake the topside module fabrication and integration of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel, FPSO Carioca MV30.

Keppel delivers second jack-up rig out of the 10 ordered by Borr Drilling

SINGAPORE (June 13): Keppel Offshore & Marine’s (Keppel O&M) subsidiary, Keppel FELS, has delivered its second jack-up rig for the year to Borr Drilling’s subsidiary Borr Skald – safely, on time, and on budget.

The delivery of Skald follows that of Saga earlier this year, with another eight on order.

In a press release on Wednesday, Keppel O&M says the latest jack-up rig, Skald, is capable of operating in 400 ft water depth and drilling to 35,000 ft.

Keppel to build Southeast Asia’s first LNG bunkering vessel valued at $50 mil

SINGAPORE (June 5): Keppel Singmarine, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), has secured a contract from FueLNG to build Southeast Asia’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering vessel valued at approximately $50 million.

Scheduled for completion in 3Q20, the dual-fuel LNG bunkering vessel will have a capacity of 7,500 cu m.

The vessel will be built to the MTD 7500U LNG design, a proprietary design of Keppel O&M’s ship design and development arm, Marine Technology Development (MTD).

Keppel Corp reveals Van Oord contracts valued at $212 mil after SGX query

SINGAPORE (May 23): Keppel Corporation revealed Wednesday that the contracts won by Keppel Singmarine to build two high-specification Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs) for Van Oord are valued at approximately $212 million, excluding owner furnished equipment.

The disclosure was in response to a query from Singapore Exchange on Monday, asking the group to reveal the value of the contracts as well as the option for a third vessel.

Keppel had announced the contract wins on May 16, but did not disclose the value of the contracts.

Keppel O&M to build two dredgers for Dutch Van Oord

SINGAPORE (May 16): Keppel Singmarine has secured contracts of undisclosed value from Van Oord to build two high-specification Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs).

The two dredgers are expected to be completed in 4Q20 and 2Q21 respectively. As part of the contracts, Van Oord has an option to order a third dredger to be exercised within one year.

Keppel Singmarine is a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, a member of the Keppel Corp group of companies.

Keppel to sell 5 existing rigs to Borr Drilling for $993 mil

SINGAPORE (May 16): Keppel Offshore & Marine’s (Keppel O&M) wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel FELS, has signed a master agreement to sell five jackup rigs to Borr Drilling for a total value of US$745 million ($993 million).

These are existing jackup rigs which are currently being built by Keppel FELS to the KFELS B class designs.

The total price of the five rigs excludes any down payments made by the respective original owners.

Keppel O&M to jointly develop autonomous vessels with Singapore maritime authority and NUS-A*STAR centre

SINGAPORE (Apr 25): Keppel Offshore & Marine has signed an MoU with the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine, Singapore (TCOMS) to jointly develop autonomous vessels.

These will be used for a variety of applications including undertaking harbour operations such as channelling, berthing, mooring and towing operations.

Keppel and Titan agree to terminate management services agreement for Quanzhou shipyard

SINGAPORE (Apr 3): Keppel Corp says FELS Offshore (FELS), a member of Keppel Group, and the Titan group of companies have agreed to terminate an agreement signed four years ago to manage Titan Quanzhou shipyard -- with immediate effect.

On Apr 9 2014, FELS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel O&M, Titan Petrochemicals Group (Titan) and Titan Quanzhou Shipyard Co. (TQS) entered into an agreement to manage Titan Quanzhou shipyard.

The management services agreement became effective on July 15, 2016.
