Demand for fintech talent could intensify as Singapore dives into digital banking, says Michael Page report

SINGAPORE (Oct 30): Singapore is poised to see intensifying demand for specialised technology and financial skills on the back of disruption in the banking landscape, according to a report by recruitment consultant Michael Page.

In June, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced that it would be offering up to five digital bank licences to suitable applicants – two digital full bank (DFB) licences and three digital wholesale bank (DWB) licences. 

Frasers Property, Hitachi sign $100 mil MOU to drive digital transformation in APAC real estate industry

SINGAPORE (Oct 16): Mainboard-listed Frasers Property is working with Hitachi Asia to drive digital transformation in the real estate industry in Asia Pacific over the next five years.

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in a collaboration involving an investment of up to $50 million each.

According to the MOU, the companies will explore opportunities to help accelerate digital transformation for the Frasers Property group and the real estate industry.

UOB, The FinLab select 16 Malaysian businesses for digital transformation

SINGAPORE (Sept 24): United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) has selected 16 Malaysian businesses to participate in The FinLab’s Jom Transform Programme.

Singtel invests $45 mil to boost digital skills of 12,600 employees

SINGAPORE (Sept 12): Singtel has earmarked $45 million, over the span of three years, to deepen the digital skills of its 12,600 employees in Singapore, to enable them to thrive in the digital economy. 

The signing ceremony today at [email protected] saw Singtel and the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore (UTES) ink a three-year Memorandum of Understanding on the formation of a Company Training Committee (CTC) to implement the ACT initiative.

SINGAPORE (Jan 9): DBS Bank today launched DBS SME Connect, an online portal that provides small and medium enterprises (SMEs) “get digital, connected, and protected fast” with the provision of access to web-based business tools and services such as accounting, human resources (HR), digital marketing, e-commerce and cybersecurity solutions.

Instant account opening with DBS is also now available for new-to-bank SME customers with up to three directors.
