Ryde partners Trans-Cab to form Singapore's second largest driver fleet

SINGAPORE (Sept 25): Ride-hailing operator Ryde will be collaborating with local taxi operator Trans-Cab to add over 3,000 taxis to its platform. This will accelerate Ryde's growth to become the second-largest driver fleet in Singapore, with more than 25,000 drivers across private cars, private hire cars and taxis.

From Oct 1, Ryde will also be the first ride-hailing platform to allow a major taxi fleet to access private hire jobs as well as social carpooling jobs.

Biolidics collaborates with Hangzhou Normal University to undertake clinical investigations for lung cancer biomarker

SINGAPORE (Sept 9): Biolidics, the medical technology company, is collaborating with Hangzhou Normal University to undertake clinical investigations to validate the clinical utility of CTCs as a biomarker in late stage lung cancer.

In addition, the group’s liquid biopsy solutions will be used as a companion diagnostics test to validate a combination treatment for lung cancer.

The liquid biopsy solutions separate cancer cells from a small amount of blood sample. The clinical studies serve to validate the clinical utility of CTCs as a biomarker in late stage lung cancer.

DSTA, Rolls-Royce to collaborate on digital technology

SINGAPORE (July 24): The Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Rolls-Royce jointly announced that they will be collaborating on a digital technology project to boost efforts in the development and deployment of new technologies to optimise engine maintenance.

This follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to partner on digital service solutions at the Farnborough Air Show in UK earlier in July 2018.

Visa to invest, collaborate with Gojek on enhancing digital payments across Southeast Asia

SINGAPORE (July 17): Visa has invested in Gojek, the mobile on-demand service and payments platform, as part of the latter’s ongoing Series F fundraising round.

Visa and Gojek will also collaborate to provide greater options on cashless payments and more seamless experiences for consumers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

SIA, Malaysia Airlines sign MOU for wide-ranging cooperation

SINGAPORE (June 27): Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) on Thursday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore a wide-ranging strategic partnership to build on their existing codeshare agreement that covers flights between Singapore and Malaysia.

The enhanced ties between the duo could include a significant expansion of codeshare flights beyond Singapore-Malaysia routes, as well as enhancements on the frequent flier programme front.

Other potential co-operation could involve cargo and maintenance, repair and overhaul services.

Air New Zealand teams up with ST Engineering to trial use of drones for aircraft inspection

SINGAPORE (June 17): Air New Zealand will use drones to carry out inspection checks of its aircraft when they undergo heavy maintenance checks at its facility near Changi Airport – with some help from ST Engineering’s Aerospace.

DroScan, an unmanned drone system developed by ST Engineering, will deploy a drone take a planned route around the outside of an aircraft to inspect its surface and produce high definition images.

BreadTalk launches Singapore's first Wu Pao Chun Bakery

SINGAPORE (June 17): BreadTalk announced that Wu Pao Chun has launched its first bakery in Capitol Singapore on June 14.
