Ascendas-Singbridge partners Mitsui to own & operate two office buildings in Shanghai

SINGAPORE (Feb 14): Ascendas-Singbridge Group and Mitsui Co have signed an agreement to jointly own and operate two office buildings in Shanghai, Ascendas Innovation Place (AIP) and Ascendas Plaza (AP), through a 55:45 partnership.

Ascendas-Singbridge is jointly owned by Temasek Holdings and JTC Corporation through a 51:49 partnership, while Mitsui is one of the largest general trading houses in Japan. 

Ascendas-Singbridge properties to house public EV charging network with help from SP Group

SINGAPORE (Jan 21): Ascendas-Singbridge Group is appointed as Singapore Power (SP) Group’s first major location partner in its plans to build “Singapore’s largest and fasted public EV charging network” with 1,000 charging points island-wide by 2020.

Under the partnership, 24 charging points were installed in six buildings owned by Ascendas-Singbridge – Hyflux Innovation Centre at  80 Bendemeer Road, Corporation Place, Techlink, Techplace I, The Capricorn and The Kendall – with operations commencing in phases since Dec 2018.  

Ascendas-Singbridge acquires 12.2-acre Chennai site for development of new IT park

SINGAPORE (Jan 3): Ascendas-Singbridge Group has acquired a 12.2-acre site in Chennai for an undisclosed sum from GSquare Group, making it Ascendas-Singbridge’s sixth property in the city.

With a total development potential of 2.3 million sq ft, the land parcel located on Pallavaram–Thoraipakkam Road, also known as Radial Road, will be developed into a new IT park named International Tech Park Chennai (ITPC) – Radial Road, after the group’s flagship International Tech Park Chennai – Taramani (pictured in main image).

Construction of Office Tower 2, OneHub Saigon, starts

SINGAPORE (Dec 6): Construction has started for Office Tower 2 at OneHub Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City’s first fully integrated business park in Saigon Hi-Tech Park.

OneHub Saigon is a joint venture between Ascendas-Singbridge Group and Saigon Bund Capital Partners.

The 12-hectare development will comprise seven office towers, a mixed-use commercial block, work-office home-offices, an education centre and recreational amenities.

Ascendas-Singbridge acquires portfolio of 33 high-quality US office properties

SINGAPORE (Sept 7): Ascendas-Singbridge Group is making its first foray into the US market to maintain its international presence while diversify its portfolio geographically.

The urban development and business space solutions provider has acquired a portfolio of 33 high-quality office properties in the United States.

Temasek is principal investor in new Ascendas-Singbridge's India logistics property JV

SINGAPORE (June 6): Ascendas-Singbridge, the urban development and business space solutions provider, has launched Ascendas India Logistics Programme with investment company Temasek as its principal investor.

The commitment of capital for the programme follows the recent establishment of Ascendas-Firstspace, a joint venture between Ascendas-Singbridge and Firstspace Realty, to deliver state-of-the-art logistics and industrial facilities across major warehousing and manufacturing hubs in India.

Ascendas REIT's next phase: A player in Singapore's Smart Nation initiative

SINGAPORE (May 7): Few real estate investment trust managers have spoken extensively about the use of technology in their properties. William Tay, the new CEO of Ascendas REIT’s manager, emphasised that PropTech was among his priorities when he met analysts and the media on April 23 at its year-end results briefing. Ascendas REIT is Singapore’s largest REIT by assets under management (AUM) and market cap, and it is encouraging that Tay is able to link being a player in Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative back to distributions to unitholders.

Ascendas-Singbridge and GIC acquire 16-acre site in Pune

INDIA/SINGAPORE (Aug 23): Ascendas-Singbridge Group, the urban development and business space solutions provider, and GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, has acquired a 16-acre land parcel in Pune, India.

This acquisition is the second investment under the Ascendas India Growth Programme (AIGP), in which GIC is a principal investor along with Ascendas-Singbridge.

Established in 2013, the AIGP has a target asset size of $600 million. Its first investment was in the International Tech Park Gurgaon.

Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone signs agreement with Keppel Logistics to bring food products from China to Singapore

SINGAPORE (May 17): Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone (SSJFZ), the large-scale integrated agricultural zone jointly developed by China and Singapore, today saw the signing of two new MoUs.

SSJFZ is managed by Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone Development and Management Co. (JVMC), a joint venture between Singbridge -- a member of Ascendas-Singbridge Group -- and China’s Jilin City Government.

Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone starts development of pig farm and cheese factory

SINGAPORE (April 24): Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone Development and Management Co. (JVMC), a joint venture between Singbridge and China’s Jilin city government, celebrated two key milestones for Sino-Singapore Jilin Food Zone (SSJFZ) today.

They are the commencement of the Phase 1 development of Integrated Pig Farm (IPF) project, as well as the Guangze Cheese Factory on SSJFZ premises.
