Fourth Jumbo Seafood opens in Shanghai

SINGAPORE (Nov 28): Jumbo Group has opened of its fifth Jumbo Seafood outlet in China and its fourth Jumbo Seafood outlet in Shanghai.

The new outlet is located in downtown Shanghai at the luxury L’Avenue Mall in Hongqiao.

Occupying a total floor space of 820 sqm, the L’Avenue outlet has a seating capacity of 212 with seven private rooms.

Jumbo’s first three outlets in Shanghai are located at IAPM Mall (Xuhui District), Raffles City (Huangpu District) and the Shanghai International Finance Centre.

Beijing to get its first Jumbo seafood restaurant and taste of Singapore chilli crab

SINGAPORE (March 20): Jumbo Group on Friday entered into a joint venture agreement to open its first Jumbo Seafood restaurant in Beijing, China.

The latest Jumbo Seafood restaurant will be located within the Beijing SKP, one of the top high-end iconic, luxury and fashion shopping malls in Beijing and China.

Jumbo CEO Ang gives up chairmanship to focus on next stage of growth

SINGAPORE (Jan 31): Ang Kiam Meng, executive chairman and CEO of the Jumbo group of seafood restaurants, is relinquishing his role as chairman of the board to focus on the restaurant chain's next stage of growth.

Lead independent director Tan Cher Liang, who co-founded corporate services group Boardroom, will take over as the new independent chairman.

Ang will now be executive director and group CEO.

In FY16, Jumbo’s earnings rose 46.3% to $15.5 million from a year ago due to higher gross profit and share of results of associates.

SINGAPORE (May 13): Seafood restaurant operator Jumbo Group posted a 48.7% rise in 2Q earnings to $5.8 million from $3.9 million a year ago.

The jump was mainly due to co-operative ventures and a subsidiary being fully owned by the company after the restructuring exercise undertaken in connection with the IPO and a general increase in net profit.
