The all-new House of W. Atelier in Bukit Timah, which is designed to replicate the layout of a house, is the ultimate destination for furniture, lighting and accessories
SINGAPORE (May 14): We got comfortable sitting on one of Fritz Hansen’s chairs. We also had a bite at one of SieMatic’s award-winning kitchen brands from Germany. Sounds like we were having a great time at a friend’s home. But, no, we were just having a walk-through of the all-new House of W. Atelier at Bukit Timah.
A kitchen of the future by SieMatic
The House of W. Atelier, which opened late last year, is designed to replicate the actual layout of a house. It is also the flagship showroom for Republic of Fritz Hansen and SieMatic. Keeping them company are other well-known brands such as Lasvit, Lema and Zanotta.
Upon entering the showroom, customers are greeted by a row of chairs that line the front entrance. You will immediately spot the classic Egg chair from the bestselling Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen.
As you explore the showroom further, you will notice three unique design themes — Classic, Pure and Urban — by SieMatic. Each one has its own contemporary life philosophy, expressed not only through furniture design and choice of colours and materials, but also in the overall room-planning concepts, to reflect the lifestyle of the owner.
What’s a home without other furnishings and flourishes? Pick up a few design ideas by just walking around the store. You will see, among other things, elegant shelves by Lema, a bedroom with a vast walk-in wardrobe, playful lighting with Lasvit’s Lollipop pendant lamps, a Zanotta Tweed table teamed with opulent chandeliers, and cosy lighting provided by the Cestita table lamp by Santa & Cole.
