When the weather becomes unbearably hot, it’s a signal to refresh your wardrobe and explore ways to stay cool. While temperate regions enjoy a seasonal summer, we in Singapore are fortunate to experience warm weather year-round. This means we can partake in activities like swimming, hiking, camping, barbecues and picnics no matter the month. We also get to savour various fresh fruits and vegetables, such as berries, tomatoes and corn, which may be seasonal elsewhere but are available throughout the year. The best part is embracing summer fashion without worrying about overdressing.

For those planning a sunny vacation later this year, check out our recommendations for wardrobe essentials that will keep you cool and stylish. The only factor beyond our control is the humidity.

Mexico in a bottle

What’s your favourite city? Is it Mexico City, Tokyo, Chicago, Shanghai or Berlin? Le Labo has crafted City Exclusive scents to pay tribute to these vibrant cities. These unique fragrances are typically available only in their respective locations, meaning there are no online orders, shipping or exceptions. However, once a year, these City Exclusives are offered and this year, they were released for the entire month of September.

The first scent to be released is Coriandre 39, a new City Exclusive fragrance inspired by Mexico City and captured in a bottle. Its main ingredient is cilantro (or coriander), a herb with a bright, lemony flavour that enhances the bold tastes of Mexican cuisine. Coriandre 39 features fresh, spicy lime notes layered with the essence of cilantro leaves.

The magic of Eros

The new fragrance campaign for Versace Eros, Eros Energy, features actor Channing Tatum as Eros, the mythological God of Love. Eros Energy is the latest Eau de parfum pour homme from Versace, inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Mediterranean coastline. It captures the freshness of its scenery, the wildness of the air and the luxurious essence of a vast Italian vacation.

The fragrance opens with an exhilarating burst of citrus, showcasing the sun-kissed essence of Italian bergamot, along with zesty notes of blood orange, lime, lemon, grapefruit and mandarin. The heart of the scent reveals a blend of pink peppercorn and blackcurrant, adding intrigue and sensuality, while white amber embodies passion and desire. Patchouli contributes depth and richness; oakmoss introduces an earthy green facet, while musk envelops the wearer in a warm embrace.

Travel with a conscience

In collaboration with Harper Collective, MCM introduces “Sustainable Luggage is the Future of Travel,” a collection designed for the eco-conscious traveller. Harper Collective specialises in transforming reclaimed materials into luxury products. The new collection, named ‘Ghost,’ is inspired by abandoned fishing nets that pollute our oceans.

This luggage range features MCM’s cognac Visetos, which elegantly wraps lightweight aluminium handles. The interior showcases MCM’s signature recycled quilted nylon, creating a unique blend of style and sustainability. Upcycled MCM webbing straps from three different decades further enhance the interior. The luggage tags are made from upcycled Maxi Visetos material. Due to the genuinely upcycled nature of the materials, no two pieces are exactly alike.

Let the sunshine in

The runway at the Kenzo Spring and Summer 2025 collection for women was awash in shades of yellow, lime, limoncello and forest green. Silhouettes are relaxed, emphasising draped scarf dresses featuring fringing, wrap dresses, skirts and tops adapted from the obi, and over-dimensional skirts nipped at the waist. The prints on the fabric showcase peonies, Kenzo Takada’s favourite flower.

Featured bags include fishing bags crafted from cotton drills and overlaid with hand-netting. They are available in shopper, crossbody and evening bag sizes in yellow, red, khaki and black. A modernised version of a traditional Edo-period knapsack, a backpack features a ruched top closure that fastens with its own shoulder straps.

Laid-back look

Summer style does not give you an excuse to dress like you just rolled out of bed. Take your fashion cue from Brunello Cucinelli’s men’s spring and summer 2025 collection, which focuses on elegance. Colour palettes embrace vibrant pastels with delicious names like grapefruit, papaya and ginger, complemented by touches of stronger shades such as grey, blue and bark. The theme of a relaxed wardrobe continues with fabrics made from natural fibres, silk and some denim thrown in for good measure.
