SINGAPORE (Dec 10): The Washlet by TOTO is leading the way in toilet bowl design with its many new tech features

It is the only room in the house where you can escape from family members for some alone time. Some even spend time in here reading a book or replying to messages on their smart devices. We are talking about the bathroom. For the reasons stated above, some of us spend a considerable amount of time on the toilet. Therefore, it makes sense to invest in a smart toilet — one that offers all the comforts you could ever ask for in a toilet.

One that will fit your needs is TOTO’s signature product, the Washlet. It is an electronic toilet seat with a warm water feature.

The Washlet was launched in 1980 and new features were added over the years. Each one improved on its functions, based on customer needs and desires. One example is the Actilight function, which uses a photocatalyst to clean itself by getting rid of both visible and invisible waste products. It combines an integrated ultraviolet light and a photocatalytic glaze on the bowl, which breaks down organic waste and ensures the toilet is always clean.

Here are Washlet’s other features:

Auto lid opening and closing sensor-activated technologies allow the toilet lid to open and close automatically by motion sensor

Pre-mist — a spray of water that covers the toilet bowl prevents waste from sticking

Heated seat — the contoured heated seat is warmed for maximum comfort — a much-welcome feature in the mornings

Cleanse — adjustable spray of warm water for rear cleansing that can pulsate or oscillate with more spray patterns and is ideal for rear wash, soft rear wash, front wash, soft front wash, oscillating wash, pulsating wash, water pressure and wand pressure

Front cleanse — gentle and cleansing bidet function designed specifically for women

Self-cleaning nozzle — the self-cleaning function sanitises the entire antibacterial nozzle before and after every use

Dryer — a gentle flow of warm air for hands-free drying

Deodoriser — latest technology breaks down and removes unpleasant smell to filter and purify the air
