This dining room becomes ideal for entertaining after a makeover
(SINGAPORE (Dec 11): Can a dining room be a play area as well? In the case of the Shi family, it has become both. The room is dominated by a long dining table set as well as a foosball table for their two preteens. As a result, the Shis are not able to properly hold adult dinners when the children are playing foosball.

Mrs Shi’s request was to create a cosy nook that is suited for weeknight meals and weekend dinners with friends. W. Atelier suggested a new dining table set as well as to move the foosball table into the spare room. The neutral shades of the new dining table set and the natural lighting from the balcony help tone down the eclectic style of the rest of the room. The result? A clean and cosy space that is ideal for hosting dinner parties.

The dining room should not do double duty as a playroom
