No mean feat: Casio timepiece breaks Guinness World RecordCasio G-Shock has survived the most gruelling test ever. Last October, the world’s heaviest vehicle drove over the G-SHOCK DW-5600E-1 for a verified challenge. To set a new record, the watch needed to function properly after being run over by a truck weighing at least 20 tonnes. The DW-5600E-1 far surpassed this weight when it withstood the crushing force of a truck weighing 24.97 tonnes, becoming the only watch to do so. The iconic DW-5600 was selected for this challenge, given its association with the G-SHOCK’s genesis. With this new Guinness World Record, it has lived up to the brand’s ethos of “Absolute Toughness”.
