For the business executive and traveller, Ermenegildo Zegna has something for every season and time zone.
Some four years after he joined Ermenegildo Zegna as head of design, Stefano Pilati has moved on. Before doing so, the notable Italian designer helped create the fashion house’s upcoming seasonal collections in a finale worthy of both his name and Zegna’s.
For the Couture line of the fall/winter 2016/17 collection, Pilati has introduced certain “embellishments” on classics that are long-lasting. The embellishments comprise several of the most iconic, masculine motifs, turned into three-dimensional hand embroidery and woven into a range of fabrics including super-fine Lanificio Zegna wools and recycled polyester.
The result is a collection that is intuitively elegant, combining business respectability and deliberate informality.
The Couture line is dominated by grey and black, but selective use of lighter shades of grey as well as camel gives the collection wider appeal to the younger and less conservative set.
Beyond the basic items, the collection boasts black velvet sneakers, belts and even brocade pochettes, among others. Naturally, given that this is the fall/winter collection, overcoats and full suits figure prominently.
To be sure, the year-long heat and humidity in Singapore means Zegna customers probably will not need that double- breasted suit all too often. However, fashion-conscious executives have a wide range of choices. For example, Zegna’s line of business shirts, the 100 Fili, is stylish yet practical. Described by the company as the ultimate business shirt, the 100 Fili has the right combination of material excellence and product innovation. The 100 Fili uses the best Egyptian cotton — the rare and precious Mako Giza For the business executive and traveller, Ermenegildo Zegna has something for every season and time zone — woven in ultra-fine fibre with a thread count of 100 per cm.
Business travellers will certainly take to the Z ZEGNA Techmerino travel wardrobe line. Techmerino is a natural high-performance fabric made of pure Merino wool and treated with special finishing techniques. The result is a lightweight and extremely soft material that ensures maximum comfort and fit even when wearers are constantly on the move.
The material is highly breathable, facilitates evaporation and provides perfect thermo-regulation against cold and heat. It also helps keep the skin dry and body temperature constant.
The collection includes a navy hybrid knit blouson in Techmerino, with double front layer vest in waterproof Techmerino; a long-sleeve polo shirt in Techmerino jacquard jersey; dark green mélange sweatpants and Techmerino sweatshirt.
The versatile Techmerino is also used for shoes and bags. The black sneakers in suede with printed shark details on the upper feature Techmerino lining, whereas the black calf leather Poplin backpack, with two separated zipped gussets, is extremely light and soft.
The Z ZEGNA Techmerino line is not just an affirmation of Zegna’s mastery in merging technological tailoring with authentic outdoor sportswear, but is also the brand’s answer to jet-setters looking for something that can bring them across time zones and seasons.
