A closer look
From the Leica Trinovid range of binoculars, Leica Camera presents a special edition model created in collaboration with the Icelandic- Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, who lent the binoculars their unusual look. It stands out with its neon green leather trim and colour-matched engraving. The limited Leica Trinovid 8 x 40 LIFE edition was created as an homage to Eliasson’s installation “Life”, which was shown at the Fondation Beyeler (Switzerland) in 2021. “Life” presented a model of “natural cultural” landscape that explored how nature and culture are inseparable — how humans are entangled with the elements, structures and systems in our environment.
When the sun shines
The creators at La Prairie have tapped on the sunset in Switzerland to create the Pure Gold Radiance Nocturnal Balm. Researchers noticed that there is a place overlooking lac Léman that is shaped by ancient terraced vineyards traced by stone walls. Throughout the day, the bright sun directly irradiates the mountain face while its rays are reflected off the mirror-like surface of the lake to ignite the Swiss mineral surfaces. The energy of the sun is captured and stored in these ancient stones. When the sun sets, Swiss peaks replenish the energy of the sun that was captured during the day and continues to seep through the mineral core in a nocturnal diffusion, allowing the vines to thrive at night. La Prairie has designed a formula to boost energy in devitalised skin following a two-step approach. First, the formula of Pure Gold Nocturnal Balm brings a potent energy-rich nutrient to the skin. Then, La Prairie’s exclusive Pure Gold Diffusion System amplifies the conversion of this energy-rich nutrient into energy by activating an energy sensor.
Pola’s policy of “broadening individual potential” has continued to evolve by deepening the research, not only in the field of skin, but also in areas such as brain science, cognitive science, and communication studies. In 2009, it was the first in the industry to focus on glycation, which prevents beautiful skin. Now, based on more than 20 years of research into glycation, Pola has discovered that a protein contained in perspiration becomes glycated and that glycated sweat contributes to the risk of visible pores, which is one of the main concerns of mature skin. B.A. lotion by Pola protects mature skin from pore damage caused by glycated sweat.
