The ultimate Tank experience
Celebrate the Cartier Tank with an immersive pop-up at Malmaison by The Hour Glass, where you can learn about the heritage of the Tank watches and appreciate the beauty of this iconic piece designed in 1917. It started with Louis Cartier who took inspiration from the purity of the line to create a new watch shape. The two parallel brancards (French for “shaft”) are an established signature of the Tank watch.
Inspired by the design of a combat vehicle viewed from above, this watch follows one principle: the brancards were the treads, the case was the turret. This radical concept has become Cartier’s signature.
A popular pop-up activity is the strap bar that offers a comprehensive customisation experience from strap colour selection to personalisation, which takes 15 to 20 days to furnish and costs $600. All you need to do is choose the alligator leather strap in 16 colours and pair that with stitching, lining and a personalised message. The Cartier Tank Experience runs from Oct 27 to Dec 5. Brick by brick
Staying home more often has its advantages as families are able to bond over meals or activities. Lego has launched 10 new sets that cover themes such as City, Friends, and Ninjago. We love the Lego Harry Potter Hogsmeade Village Visit that will keep families entertained for hours recreating some of the scenes from the movies.
Sleepwear by Rawbought is not just for women, as the brand has now launched a new collection for men. The men’s range is part of their signature Je Dors Collection that is made of sustainable and breathable fabric. There are two choices of colours: black and blue — so, men, you can ditch the old tee shirt and shorts and slip into these buttery soft pyjamas that will have you in slumberland in no time.
The virtuous Virtus
The Virtus handbag by Versace gets a supermodel treatment with Bella Hadid as the face of the campaign. Reminiscent of the brand’s ‘90s-era imagery, the photographs depict Bella carrying Virtus shoulder bags and the Virtus tote bag, all featuring V-shaped quilting that mimics the design’s Barocco V hardware. The Virtus handbag takes its name from the Roman deity, symbolising strength, courage, and character. A bold symbol of the brand’s aesthetic heritage, the central gold-tone Barocco V characterises the bag.
Stepping toward sustainability
Just launched in May, British-based sneaker company LØCI has seen an increase in demand for its vegan sneakers. All LØCI sneakers are handmade in a boutique by shoemakers in suburban Porto, Portugal, using recycled ocean plastic sourced from the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Coast. To meet the growing demand, the company has launched four new designs such as Seven, a low-top sneaker style in a two-tone design with a sleek new mudguard and wide heel counter.
Breathe in clean air
We can get rid of airborne Covid-19 virus effectively with an air purifier such as the Airfree steriliser system that has been certified by MRIGlobal, a leading US not-for-profit research organisation. Studies show that the Airfree steriliser system is able to destroy 80.5% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus released into a controlled chamber. Founder of Airfree Products Electronics, Carlos Matias created this when his son suffered from recurrent allergies. The technology allows the Airfree to heat up to a temperature of 200°C to draw bacteria, viruses, and other organic organisms into the ceramic-core heated ducts to be destroyed by heat purifying the room. Airfree air sterilisers operate without any filters to replace — a huge saving to the consumer and the environment.
