SINGAPORE (Mar 13): Blurred lines
Fresh off his collaboration with Uniqlo, Northern Irish designer JW Anderson takes on a designing role with Moncler Genius where he blurs the line between the male and female collections with a cross-pollination of menswear and womenswear. The result is, well, genius.
Orlando Bloom has been appointed as Boss Eyewear ambassador for this year. Bloom, with his influential sense of style, creates a synergy between him and the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. He says, “Eyewear has always been an integral part of an outfit for me. Whether you’re going for a bold look or something more relaxed, your eyewear should reflect the way you are dressed, and the way you feel. The Boss brand understands the desire to look good without compromising on comfort or individual style, which is something that resonates with me.”
The fearless designers
Artistic director of Ermenegildo Zegna Alessandro Sartori and founder of Fear of God Jerry Lorenzo come together to create a new style that promises to rewrite the rules of tailoring as we know it. The collection has suits whose jackets lose their revers or the turned up look to reveal the lining of a garment; coats adopting a one size fits all concept and made from the finest natural fabrics while jeans get casual as are accessories. The colour palette — with its mélange grey, vicuna and taupe — is all about neutrals.
Light years ahead
Montblanc #MY4810 Light trolley collection is a reliable travel companion that will keep your belongings safe wherever you go. The black lightweight polycarbonate exterior features a lined design on a shiny surface. The 360 degree quiet-running ball-bearing wheels and multi-stop adjustable extension handle bar with leather handle make it practical and comfortable to manoeuvre any airport in the world.
In all its glory
Chaumet has a new home at the Hôtel Particulier at 12 Place Vendôme, in time to celebrate the maison’s 240th anniversary. The boutique takes visitors on a journey through the world of Chaumet with extensive collections from Joséphine, Liens and Jardins that are displayed in all its glittering glory. Upping up the glam factor, the decor features ears of wheat that seem to ripple in the wind via an embroidery design on the upholstered walls.

Find your strength
The soon-to-be-released Disney movie Mulan has teamed up with Pandora to introduce two new charms. In keeping with the heroine’s strong character and her sidekick Mushu, these charms pay tribute to women with an affirming message ‘Be strong and be yourself’ engraved.
In the 1920s Louis Vuitton launched its very first perfume named after the family home in the Seine-et-Marne region known as Heures d’Absence (Hours Away in English). The fragrance Heures d’Absence remains timeless, evoking a holiday feel with a clever mix of ingredients, of which flowers play a leading role. To note is Jasmine from Grasse, France reveals itself majestically, thanks to CO2 extraction – a Maison Louis Vuitton exclusive – that gives it incomparable purity and delicacy.
In the pocket
Burberry has launched the Pocket Bag that is inspired by the old style stamped logo graphic. Made with premium canvas and topstitched leather, the tote features a front pocket and can be carried by the reinforced top handles or detachable shoulder strap. Various design features contrast-coloured leather edges, a logo graphic and detachable zip pouch for smaller essentials.
