SINGAPORE (Aug 28): We sum up the hottest makeup and skincare essentials to hit beauty counters so far in 2018.

Get your nude on
Clarins’ Skin Illusion is the brand’s first foundation that offers a serum texture and unique bare-skin finish which allows your skin to breathe. It contains just right amount of pigments in a blend of silky, non-greasy oils that evaporate at different speeds, such that the formula smooths on light as air while providing non-stop nourishment.

Cream and colour
This year, Chanel introduces increasing extremities of long-wearing matte to its Rouge Allure line. Four new matte shades join the beloved Rouge Allure Velvet (left: ‘Emotive’) lipstick range, while Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme (right, ‘Impressive’) offers new magnitudes of colour remaining luxuriously creamy. Completing the Rouge Allure collection for 2018 is Rouge Allure Liquid Powder (centre, ‘Plaisir’), which absorbs lightly with its powdery consistency.

Take it up a tone this autumn with Guerlain’s KissKiss Colours of Kisses Limited Edition range (left: ‘361 Excessive Rose’), which combines the same winning formula of hyaluronic acid spheres and commiphora oil with passionate red, tempting pinks and seductive coral. Also new to its fall collection for 2018 is Guerlain’s first two-tone blush, inspired by studio make-up artists’ draping techniques to illuminate and enhance skin in a single step.

Mad kisses
Lipstick Queen unveils its new Method in The Madness collection: swirls of ultra-luxe creamy hues  (pictured: Beserk Berry) combined in individual bold lip colours where no two swipes are alike. The rich and hydrating formula is infused with Vitamin E to leave your lips soft and supple to the touch.

Luminous glow
The new Brightening Concentrate from Canvas is infused with licorice root to inhibit melanin production, chamomile to reduce acne breakouts and soothe skin irritation, as well as Vitamin C to stimulate collagen production and increase skin elasticity. Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, further improves uneven skin tone and dullness.

Wipe the day away
Introducing the new Laneige Perfect Makeup Cleansing Water, a no-rinse cleansing water that removes waterproof makeup and cleanses the pores using triple micellar technology. The formula is PEG-free, 10-free and weakly acidic, providing a gentle and thorough cleansing action suitable for all skin types.

Perfect match
This summer, Sephora SEA has highlighted a number of in-store “Fix Up” treats to counter specific skincare issues  like signs of ageing and acne-prone skin with targeted ingredients. The Boscia Matcha Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask, for one, is packed with antioxidants and boasts soothing & anti-inflammatory properties. Green Tea is also an astringent, which helps to reduce sebum production.

Gold standard
Fronting Sulwhasoo’s skincare line-up for its signature Ginseng range is the Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Serum, an anti-ageing formula that bolsters the skin’s dermal-epidermal junction to firm up facial contours and improve the appearance of wrinkles. The benefits of ginseng root are delivered via Ginsenisphere, an innovative microcapsule imbued with the energy of concentrated ginseng energy.

Like a Queen
New to Singapore this year is Madonna’s MDNA line of skincare products that harness the power of mineral-rich thermal waters and volcanic clay from Montecatini, Italy. Visitors who swing by the new MDNA counter at the recently-revamped Takashimaya D.S. Beauty Hall can redeem a complimentary The Rose Mist Deluxe Travel size toner (pictured) with a minimum purchase of $250, while stocks last.
