CapitaLand Group has unveiled the “Geneo” life sciences and innovation cluster, a redevelopment that is meant to help rejuvenate the 40-year-old Singapore Science Park (SSP).
When fully completed in 2025 and operational, the development, costing $1.37 billion, will help bring SSP’s population to 21,000 from 12,000 now.
The Geneo consists of three properties with five buildings, with a total GFA of 180,600 sqm.
The first, and largest property, 1 Science Park Drive comprises three Grade-A buildings. It has 112,600 sqm of workspace and 3,600 sqm of retail and food & beverage space.
It will be linked directly to the Kent Ridge MRT station by an underground connection and is targeted for completion by 2025.
Targeted for completion by 2025, the project is owned by a 66:34 joint venture between CLD and CLAR.

The second, 5 Science Park Drive, is owned by CLD and has a total GFA of 25,600 sqm. Completed in 2019, it currently houses the headquarters of e-commerce firm Shopee.
The third property, 7 Science Park Drive, is owned by CLD and is a mixed-used development targeted for completion in 2024.
It houses about 28,800 sq m of workspace and 10,000 sq m of serviced residence space to be operated as the Citadines Science Park Singapore serviced residence, which will be the first lodging facility within the park.
