SINGAPORE (Sept 24): US buyout firm Advent International Corp is considering the sale of tutoring chain The Learning Lab, according to people familiar with the matter.

Advent is working with Goldman Sachs Group on a potential deal, which could fetch about US$500 million ($684 million), the people said, asking not to be identified because the deliberations are private. The business has attracted interest from other investment funds and companies, and its value could be higher depending on demand, the people said.

Education-related businesses have experienced a wave of deals across Asia as investors seek to tap into a growing industry. The Learning Lab charges as much as $440 per month for its courses, according to its website.
