SINGAPORE (May 28): Jumbo Group has opened its sixth China outlet under the Jumbo Seafood brand in Xi’an within Xi’an SKP, the second luxury shopping mall under the SKP brand following Beijing SKP.

This marks the group’s first Jumbo Seafood outlet outside of Shanghai and Beijing, where four outlets and another, the group’s first outlet in Beijing located at Beijing SKP mall, are stationed, respectively.

The new Xi’an outlet will occupy a total floor space of over 1,300 sq m with a total seating capacity of 218.

It features nine VIP rooms that can each accommodate between 10 and 16 guests, and can be combined to form a small function room that seats up to 90 guests.

In a Monday release, Jumbo highlights Xi’an SKP’s strategic location along Xi'an City Wall Southern Gate, a historic and tourist landmark, and within the vicinity of a high-end shopping destination – which the group believes will allow Jumbo Xi’an to leverage its prime location to tap into the affluent crowd in the area.

Going forward, Jumbo says it intends to continue expanding its Jumbo Seafood brand to other major cities in China, while exploring franchising opportunities to diversify and grow its business offerings outside of both China and Singapore.

“[Jumbo Xi’an] is the second outlet that we have opened through our strategic partnership with the Beijing Hualian group, and testament to the broad appeal and popularity of the Jumbo Seafood brand beyond Shanghai and Beijing,” says Ang Kiam Meng, group CEO and executive director of Jumbo.

" Looking forward, we are optimistic that we will be able to continue making headway in growing our network in new and existing markets," he adds.

Shares in the group closed 0.9% higher at 54 cents on Monday.
