Budget 2020 is expected to counter economic uncertainty wrought by the coronavirus outbreak without losing sight of the government's longer-term policy goals, say analysts 

SINGAPORE (7 Feb): From what was widely believed to be a pre-election sweetener, Budget 2020 is looking more like an emergency relief package due to the novel coronavirus outbreak which is showing no sign of abating.

To be announced in Parliament on Feb 18, market watchers, economists, businessmen and ordinary citizens will look closely at the mitigating measures tabled by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat when he makes his fifth Budget speech.
