SINGAPORE (May 5): Former BSI banker Yeo Jiawei, who was already facing three charges, has been slapped with three more charges in probes related to 1Malaysia Development Bhd.

The new charges are that he cheated BSI, asked witnesses to lie, and illegally transferred money.

The deputy public prosecutor, second solicitor general Kwek Mean Luck, said in court on Thursday that Yeo, 33, pocketed at least US$4 million ($5.4 million) from these illicit activities. The total amount of money that Yeo took could be “well in excess” of this figure, Kwek added.
