Thai Bev posts 7.4% fall in 9M earnings to $757 mil
SINGAPORE (Nov 21): Thai Beverage posted a 7.4% fall in 9M16 earnings to 18.9 billion baht ($757 million) in the absence of a 3.8 billion baht gain from the disposal of interest in associate F&N/FCL in 9M15.

SINGAPORE (Nov 21): Thai Beverage posted a 7.4% fall in 9M16 earnings to 18.9 billion baht ($757 million) in the absence of a 3.8 billion baht gain from the disposal of interest in associate F&N/FCL in 9M15.

Revenue for the nine months to Sept rose 15% year-on-year to 139.2 billion baht as sales grew in all segments except in its international business.

Revenue and net profit from its spirits business fell flat at 76.5 billion baht and 14.6 billion baht respectively even on higher sales volume as consumers bought more white spirits, which is more expensive and has a higher profit margin, instead of brown spirits.
