SINGAPORE (Nov 10): Singapore Telecommunications’ 2Q earnings slipped 5.6% to $972.3 million from $1 billion a year ago due to the absence of a one-off gain.
The group recorded exceptional net loss of $6 million this quarter, compared to a $55 million gain last year. The loss partly came from AIS’ handset subsidy costs for migrating its 2G-handset customers to 3G/4G.
Underlying earnings though remained stable at $978 million.
