SINGAPORE (Oct 2): BMI Research says it does not see any reason to downgrade its real GDP growth forecast of 2.5% for Singapore.

Still, it says, the "considerable" deterioration in air quality in the form haze will nevertheless be a drag on business activity at a time when the city-state's economy has already lost considerable momentum.

The haze is the result of fires stemming mostly from Indonesia, where there is slash-and-burn farming practices in the country's palm oil plantations.
