SINGAPORE (Nov 5): UBS says ride-sharing apps such as GrabCar and Uber is expected to affect public transport operator ComfortDelgro (DGG) as the latter operates 60% of taxis plying Singapore roads which contributes to about a quarter of group revenue and operating profit.

In a Thursday report, analyst Cheryl Lee says CDG’s competitive advantage has been eroded by ride-sharing apps which offer flexible terms to prospective drivers, many of whom are seeking part-time income.

The competing business models too have significant cost differences, says Lee.
