Under the partnership, 24 charging points were installed in six buildings owned by Ascendas-Singbridge – Hyflux Innovation Centre at  80 Bendemeer Road, Corporation Place, Techlink, Techplace I, The Capricorn and The Kendall – with operations commencing in phases since Dec 2018.

They form the majority of SP’s first wave of 38 charging points across Singapore, which include high-powered 50kW direct current (DC) chargers capable of fully charging a car in 30 minutes.

Through the charging points, EV drivers can use SP Group’s charging service through the ‘SP Utilities’ mobile application, which also allows them to search for the nearest charging points, receive updates on their charging sessions and make payments.

More of these high-speed charging points will be installed later this year at buildings managed by Ascendas-Singbridge.

The sites are selected for their strategic locations with easy access to a variety of amenities and food options, in addition to meeting technical criteria in terms of power supply.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, both group say their partnership reflects Ascendas-Singbridge’s intention to cater to the advanced mobility needs of its high-tech and business tenants, and is in line with the group’s corporate sustainability goals.

“Through the partnership with SP Group, we are enabling our buildings to be future-ready, as we reach out to serve a growing pool of electric car drivers. At the same time, we hope to play our part in creating a more sustainable environment by being a part of Singapore’s largest public charging EV network of the future,” adds Manohar Khiatani, deputy group CEO of Ascendas-Singbridge.
