Krist Boo, a spokeswoman at Genting Singapore Plc unit Resorts World Sentosa, said the $6.3 billion casino resort in the city-state is “on track to open in early 2010.”
The opening may be delayed by a month to March after it had to resubmit its casino license application this month, Singapore-based English-language newspaper Today reported today, without citing anyone.
Boo responded via e-mail to questions from Bloomberg News.
“The process for the casino license application is an iterative one and RWS is working closely with CRA on getting its casino license.
“The Resort has just concluded its very successful first event, ChildAid, and is now moving into high operational gear. RWS remains on track to open in early 2010.”
CRA is the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore.
