IHH Healthcare posts 25% rise in 1Q earnings to $62 mil PDF

IHH Healthcare Berhad announced that revenue grew by 8% y-o-y to RM1.8 billion ($703 million) for 1Q2014 ended March, as earnings grew 25% YoY to RM159.1 million.

Revenue growth was boosted by higher inpatient admissions and by Acibadem Atakent Hospital which was opened in January. Parkway Pantai recorded a 14% y-o-y increase in revenue to RM1.0 billion boosted by higher revenue from Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore, as well as higher revenue intensities per inpatient resulting from more complex cases undertaken and price increases.

Parkway Pantai’s Singapore hospitals saw an overall 6.4% increase in inpatient admissions to 15,226 during the quarter while the inpatient admissions at Parkway Pantai’s Malaysia hospitals grew 9.3% to 44,602 in the same period.
