The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close. Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.8% to 3,170.33.
Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, rose 0.1% in New York yesterday, extending its advance for a fifth day. Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based supplier of commodities increased, 0.9% to $2.23. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, climbed 2.1% to $2.89.
AA Group Holdings (AAG SP): The supplier of components used in the manufacture of audio devices said it has amended its 2010 financial statement to reflect a reduction in trade receivables. The changes won’t have a material impact on the group’s full-year results, it said. AA Group declined 10% to 4.5 cents when it last traded in February.
China Powerplus (CPOW): The maker of hand-held farm equipment said it incurred a full-year loss of 20.2 million yuan ($3.8 million), instead of a profit of 57.7 million yuan as reported on March 1. The discrepancy was discovered following an audit, which required the accounting of an impairment charge of 77.9 million yuan at an associate company, it said. The stock declined 13% to 3.5 cents.
Eratat Lifestyle (ERAT SP): The China-based maker of athletic shoes and apparel said it will sell 45 million new shares at 20.2 cents each, raising net proceeds of $8.8 million. Eratat fell 2.2 percent to 22 cents when it last traded on April 5. It was suspended from trading yesterday and will resume trading today.
HLH Group (HLHG SP): The property developer and owner of a corn plantation in Cambodia said it appointed Ong Bee Huat, the company’s founder, as chief executive officer. HLH Group was unchanged at 3 cents.
SIA Engineering Co. (SIE SP): The aircraft maintenance arm of Singapore Airlines (SIA SP) said it and a unit of Safran SA (SAF FP) opened an avionics maintenance facility, which could handle new aircraft models such Boeing B787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350, in Singapore. The stock gained 1.5% to $4.08.
