Rotary wins $14.6m EPC deal to build new plant and upgrade existing facilities on Jurong Island

Mainboard-listed Rotary Engineering has secured a $14.6 million Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to add new facilities to an existing plant on Jurong Island for chemicals company Stepan Asia Pte Ltd.

The contract calls for the construction of a four-storey 50,000 tonnes per year (expandable to 100,000 tonnes per year) fractionated methyl ester plant as well as the upgrading of an existing plant on Jurong Island.

Works include the addition of tanks, cooling tower, air compressor, fire-fighting facilities and related facilities involving civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works. Technology for the fractionation will be provided by separately by Stepan’s consultant.

Work on the four-storey fractionation plant has started and is scheduled for completion in February 2012.
