PEC says it has won a $78 million project works contract from Tuas Power Utilities (TPU).

Under the contract, PEC will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a pipe rack and utilities piping reticulation system in TPU’s Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex in Jurong Island.

The project is slated for completion by May 2012.

Managing Director Wong Peng says, “We are delighted to continue our good working relationship with TPU. This contract win is certainly a great start to 2011 and is a strong testament to the Group’s capabilities and reputation in delivering high quality project works. PEC will continue to pursue further opportunities in the wake of exciting new developments announced by major corporations and the government in further developing Jurong Island.”

The contract win is expected to have a positive impact on the group’s financial performance for financial year ending 30 June 2011.
