Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.2% to 3,251.43 as of the 12:30 p.m. trading break. About the same number of stocks rose and fell in the benchmark equity index of 30 companies.

Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, gained 1% in New York yesterday, extending its three-day advance 3.4%.
Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based commodities supplier, rose 0.9% to $2.36. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, gained 1.6% to $3.25.
CapitaLand (CAPL SP), Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, gained 1.6% to $3.87. Nomura Holdings Inc. raised its recommendation to “buy” from “neutral” and increased its share-price estimate to $4.37 from $4.25.
