Singapore’s Straits Times Index gained 0.1% to 3,232.41 as of 9:20 a.m. local time. Almost five stocks rose for every three that fell in the benchmark equity index of 30 companies.

Commodity suppliers: The Thomson Reuters/Jefferies CRB Index, which tracks prices of 19 commodities from copper to corn, gained 0.9% in New York yesterday, snapping two days of decline.
Noble Group (NOBL SP), a Hong Kong-based commodities supplier, gained 0.9% to $2.27. Olam International (OLAM SP), a Singapore-based supplier of agricultural commodities, rose 0.9% to $3.24.
Consciencefood Holdings (CSF SP), a maker of instant noodles, climbed 1.7% to 30 cents. The company said it has installed new machinery that will boost its annual production capacity to 852 million packs of noodles from 741 million.
Tiger Airways Holdings (TGR SP), the budget carrier backed by Singapore Airlines (SIA SP), increased 1.7% to $1.83. The company said it carried 5.76 million passengers in 2010, 32% more than in the previous year. The airline filled an average of 86% of available seats in the period, an increase from 84% the year before.
