Metax Engineering Corporation, the homegrown environmental engineering company, says wholly-owned subsidiary, Metax Eco Solutions , has clinched a contract worth $13.7 million from Sembawang Engineers & Constructors.

The project to design, develop and install a pre-treatment system for the Lower Seletar Waterworks (LSWW) project is expected to take 28 months to complete. The pre-treatment system shall comprise mainly process and control equipment aimed at clarifying water from source before water is channelled for treatment.

The LSWW project, recently awarded to Sembawang E&C via public tender by the Public Utilities Board (PUB), is to construct waterworks capable of producing 60 million gallons per day at a proposed 7.2 hectare site along the newly constructed Western Road Link off the Seletar Expressway. The LSWW will receive and treat water from the Lower Seletar Reservoir and will deliver drinking water to PUB’s Island Service Reservoir along the Seletar Expressway.
