Sembcorp Industries announces that its 40%-owned associate, SembSita Australia, trading as SITA Environmental Solutions, has been named the successful bidder to acquire 100% of WSN Environmental Solutions (WSN), a solid waste management service provider owned by the New South Wales government in Australia.

The A$235 million ($305 million) acquisition of WSN includes WSN's advanced resource recovery facilities, engineered landfills, transfer stations and material recovery facilities. SITA Environmental Solutions will be funding the acquisition through a combination of external debt and shareholder funds. Completion is expected at end-January 2011.

This transaction is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings per share and net asset value per share of Sembcorp Industries for the current financial year.
