Singapore Airlines, the first carrier to fly the Airbus SAS A380 commercially, said the introduction of its 12th superjumbo has been delayed after a Japanese contractor failed to deliver the plane’s business-class seats on time.
The delay is a result of issues faced by Koito Industries, which makes the seats, Nicholas Ionides, spokesman for the carrier, said in an e-mail reply to Bloomberg queries.
Koito Industries spokesman Hidetsugu Matsudaira said he had no comment on the Singapore Airlines statement.
