Mainboard-listed Informatics Education, the education and training service provider in Asia, says its subsidiary, Informatics Academy, which runs the group’s school operations in Singapore, has successfully attained the four-year EduTrust Certification, a voluntary certification scheme that helps to distinguish higher quality players in Singapore’s private education industry.
In accordance to the requirements set out by the Council for Private Education (CPE), private education institutions in Singapore need to be EduTrust-certified before being able to offer placements for international students who require a Student’s Pass from the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) of Singapore.
The EduTrust Certification programme essentially reviews and audits a private education institution based on six criteria – (i) management commitment and responsibilities, (ii) corporate governance and administration, (iii) external recruitment agents, (iv) student protection and support services, (v) academic processes and assessment of students and (vi) quality assurance, monitoring and results. The assessment findings also indicated Informatics Academy’s strengths in the management of academic processes and assessment of students.
Wong Wee Woon, newly appointed Acting CEO of Informatics, says: “We are encouraged by the successful attainment of the EduTrust Certification which is indeed a resounding mark of assurance to our various stakeholders, including the students and partners of Informatics. It affirms our qualities in areas of administration, student protection, recruitment, academic processes and assessment. We will continue to do our best in providing quality education services to our valued students.”
The EduTrust Certification is awarded by the CPE, a statutory board empowered with the legislative power to regulate the private education sector. The CPE also facilitates capability development efforts to uplift the standards in the Singapore private education industry.
