Palm-oil suppliers: Crude palm-oil futures for February delivery fell as much as 1.3% on the Malaysia Derivatives Exchange. The commodity, down 1.8% this week, had gained for the 11 weeks to Nov. 12 on increasing demand.
First Resources (FR SP), an Indonesian palm-oil producer, slid 2.1% to $1.38. Indofood Agri Resources (IFAR SP), the palm-oil unit of Indonesia’s biggest noodle maker, dropped 3.3% to $2.66. Golden Agri-Resources (GGR SP), the world’s second-biggest palm-oil producer, retreated 0.7% to 73.5 cents.
Keppel Corp. (KEP SP), the world’s biggest builder of oil rigs, gained 0.2% to $10.80. Unit Keppel FELS said that Standard Drilling placed a $180 million ($237.1 million) order for a jack-up rig. Standard Drilling also holds options for two additional rigs, the statement said.
Midas Holdings (MIDAS SP), the maker of aluminum alloy profiles used in train carriages, rose 1.1% to 94.5 cents. The company said it plans to set up a new plant in China.
Novo Group (NOVO SP), a Singapore-based steel supplier, climbed 2.2% to 68.5 cents. The company plans to list its shares in Hong Kong by way of introduction, the company said in a statement.
STX OSV Holdings (SOH SP) declined 1.2% to 79.5 cents. The maker of offshore vessels that support operations on oil rigs said sales dropped 27% to 2.14 billion kroner ($457 million) in the third quarter.
