Singapore shares may end tad higher as investors continue to regard market conditions conducive for equities in near term amid robust liquidity. STI +0.6% at 3308.41, shade below recent 3313 year-to-date high, which could offer resistance.
“Retail investors have yet to enter the market. I think prices can still run up a bit more as these investors will help to push when they come back in eventually,” says trader at local brokerage.
Overall volume modest at about half of yesterday’s 2.41 billion shares. Among STI components, key performers include Golden Agri-Resources (E5H.SG), +4.0% at $0.78, OCBC (O39.SG), +2.7% at $10.20, SingTel (Z74.SG) +2.2% at $3.32, Noble Group (N21.SG), +2.8% at $2.23, NOL (N03.SG), +2.2% at $2.29.
