Foundation and geotechnical engineering specialist, CSC Holdings, says it has secured contracts in excess of $70 million recently.

Among these were contracts for Changi Motorsports Hub and the redevelopment of the old Orchard Emerald Shopping Centre worth $60 million.

Located along Aviation Park Road and sitting on 41-hectares of prime seafront land, the Changi Motorsports Hub will be developed into Asia’s premier motorsports and entertainment destination, and will feature Singapore’s very first permanent 4km racetrack and a 1.2km karting track along the Changi coastline.

The hub is expected to be operationally ready by the end of 2011, in time for the 2012 racing season. Work at the Changi Motorsports Hub site will be technically challenging as it sits on reclaimed land. The project is a large scale, fast track contract with piling work scheduled to commence in November 2010 and be completed by March 2011.

The contract for the redevelopment of the old Orchard Emerald Shopping Centre involves the construction of diaphragm walls and bored piles.

Other projects secured in the month of October include several residential and industrial projects, as well as CSC’s second foundation contract in Vietnam for an industrial complex in Long An Province near Ho Chi Minh City. CSC also secured a contract for the installation of foundation piles for the National Cancer Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

These new contracts together with the $50 million worth of projects secured in the past three months, brings the total value of new contracts secured in the past four months to $120 million.

With these latest additions, CSC’s order book as at 28 October 2010, stands at $210 million.
