Mirach Energy says its associate company, CPHL (Cambodia) Company (CPHLC), intends to engage Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping Inc. (OHM) to conduct electromagnetic imaging technology at its two offshore oil fields concessions in Cambodia.

CPHLC has identified three exploration well targets within Block D in which 3D seismic survey was done. Actual drilling of these wells is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2011.

OHM is a provider of controlled source electromagnetic imaging services. Such imaging services serve to accelerate exploration processes and improve exploration success rates from an average of 30% to that above 75%.

To further lower the risk the offshore exploration, CPHLC intends to partner OHM to deploy electromagnetic imaging survey to screen the targeted exploration wells. This screening makes use of differing electromagnetic transmission speed in different types of liquid forms to estimate the types of hydrocarbon structures embedded in the targeted drilling spot.
