STI +0.2% at 3186.11 in broad rebound with over 3 gainers for every decliner, 386 million shares traded worth $392 million. ‘We’re just following the U.S.,‘ says dealer at local brokerage after DJIA closed +1.2%.

Raft of economic data from China due shortly, including CPI, 3Q GDP, likely to set market tone for rest of session, dealer adds. Keppel Land (K17.SG) down 0.4% at $4.48 after 3Q results below consensus, CapitaCommercial Trust (C61U.SG) +0.7% at $1.45 after reporting 3Q DPU +7.6% on-year. Usual suspects of late in top volume list, with Berlian Laju Tanker (B66.SG) most active, +18% at $0.065, Golden Agri (E5H.SG) down 0.7% at $0.665.

Moderate gains perhaps reflect mild pullback yesterday, investors’ unwillingness to push market much higher as STI trading at levels last seen June 2008 ;recent peak around 3220 unlikely tested today.
