Vallianz Holdings, the charterer of vessels and provider of marine support services, today announced that Jonathan Lim will step down as non-executive director and vice-chairman. But he will remain as the company’s advisor for the next 12 months.
Lim was appointed the non-executive director of the company on 23 May 2008 and re-designated to acting CEO from 31 July 2009. Lim stepped down as the acting CEO and was re-designated to non-executive director and vice-chairman on Sept 6, upon the appointment of Raymond Goh as the non-executive chairman and Anders Schau as the executive director of the company.
Schau, executive director and group CEO of Vallianz, says: “Jonathan was instrumental in establishing a new business focus for the group in vessel and equipment ownership, leasing and fleet management. With the reconstitution of the board and a strengthened senior management team in place, Jonathan believes that the time is right to hand over his responsibilities. The board of directors recognises Jonathan’s contribution to Vallianz as we position ourselves to transform into a marine support services company to the offshore oil and gas industry. We look forward to his continued contribution in his new capacity as advisor to the company.”
Lim is an entrepreneur, having founded Romar Positioning Equipment in 1984. Since then, Romar has grown to be a leading global manufacturer, principally in the energy, alternative energy and oil & gas sectors. In 2008, Romar was acquired by UK-based MNC and Lim continued running the business until the end of 2009. In addition to being an entrepreneur. Lim also invests in various listed and unlisted companies in the advanced materials, oil sands, heavy oil, and mineral resources industries both locally and overseas.
Vallianz says Lim brings to the board a depth of knowledge and skill on account of his considerable business experience over the past 25 years. Lim is presently the executive director and chairman of Catalist-listed Adventus Holdings and also the vice-chairman of Australia ASX-listed Terrain Minerals.
