Singapore Airlines’ SilkAir regional unit named Marvin Tan as its Chief Executive Officer, who will take over the top job at the regional carrier next month.
Chin Yau Seng, the current CEO, will return to Singapore Air as a divisional vice president, SilkAir said in an e-mailed statement today. Tan, 39, joined the carrier’s board in June and is currently a divisional vice president.

Singapore Air, the world’s second-largest airline by market value, said in July it’s also considering a new CEO after incumbent Chew Choon Seng signaled he will step down when his contract ends in December.
SilkAir flies to 33 destinations across 11 countries, according to the statement.
