Consciencefood Holding, the Indonesian-based halal-certified instant and snack noodles manufacturer, says it recorded a HY2010 (six months ended 30 June 2010) net profit increase of 14.4% to Rp48.5 billion ($7.4 million) compared to HY2009’s Rp42.4 billion. With the exclusion of the exceptional foreign exchange gain in HY2009, net profit increase for HY2010 would be 26.9%.

Revenue grew 19.1% to Rp278.3 billion from Rp233.6 billion in HY2009 on the back of increasing demand from its domestic market. Domestic market currently makes up about 98% of the group’s revenue, with remaining the 2% from overseas markets.

Consciencefood says gross profit margins have remained constant due to the group’s prudent management of cost of raw materials, which mainly comprise wheat flour and cooking oil constituting 31% and 11% respectively, and its constant review of the average selling prices of its instant and snack noodles.
