Mainboard-listed CNA Group, the integrated building and facility management solutions provider, says net profit attributable to shareholders rose 22.3% to $3.95 million for the six months ended 30 June 2010 (1H2010) led by an increase in the share of profit from associate Standard Water Limited (SWL) to $3.7 million in 1H2010 from $1.7 million in 1H2009.

As at 30 June 2010, SWL has been operating 26 waste water treatment plants, earning monthly tariffs of about RMB 10 million ($2.1 million).

CNA says 1H2010 bottom-line growth was achieved despite a fall in 1H2010 turnover to $46.6 million due to reduced contribution of $7.8 million from $30.7 million by its Middle East subsidiary, CNA Integrated (CNA IT). In 1H2010, CNA IT had worked on a smaller number of projects because of the fallout of the global financial crisis compared to the previous period.

As at 30 June 2010, CNA’s order book stood at $48 million, of which $35 million are new orders.
